Dr. Renee Yuen-Jan Hsia (view profile) is the 2024 recipient of the ASCI/Marian W. Ropes Award. She recently met with DEIC member Dr. Jennifer S. Yu (Cleveland Clinic; profile) to discuss what inspired her to become a physician-scientist, her experience at the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center, as well as systemic public health challenges and potential paths forward. At UCSF, Dr. Hsia is Professor and Vice Chair of Health Services Research in the Department of Emergency Medicine, a faculty member of the Philip R.
